Introduction to Industrial Aluminum Profiles

Industrial aluminum profiles, also known as industrial aluminum extrusions or industrial aluminum alloy profiles, are alloy materials with aluminum as the main component. Aluminum rods are melted and extruded to obtain aluminum materials with different cross-sectional shapes. The mechanical properties and application fields vary depending on the proportion of alloys added. Generally, it refers to all aluminum profiles except those used for building doors and windows, curtain walls, decoration, and building structures. Standards include GB/T6892-2016, etc., and they are widely used in transportation, photovoltaics, construction machinery, aerospace, and medical devices.

 

The development of industrial aluminum profiles can be divided into three major stages: military foundation, civilian maturity, and quality improvement and restructuring. In the early 20th century, Germany introduced "duralumin," and during World War II, aluminum alloys were widely used in aviation. In the mid-to-late 20th century, technology spilled over into civilian applications, with 6063 alloy becoming the mainstream. Currently, China's aluminum profile production capacity accounts for more than half of the global total, and the industry is transforming towards high-end and green low-carbon development.
